Celestron Brand Eyepieces

Eyepieces are one of the most important accessories you can buy for your telescope. Each eyepiece you own will give you a different magnification, allowing you to take a closer look at Saturn or enlarge your field of view so you can see the Andromeda galaxy in all her glory! Celestron offers several different types of telescope eyepieces, so let's take a look at the highlights of each Celestron eyepiece series:

Celestron Omni Eyepieces: The Omni series is the most economical eyepiece offering from Celestron. They are all 4-element Plossl eyepieces, and most have a 52-degree field of view that is common to the Plossl design. All of the Omni eyepieces have a 1.25" barrel size with the exception of the super low power 56 mm, which has a barrel size of 2".

Celestron E-Lux Eyepieces: If you are considering an inexpensive entry into 2" eyepieces, the E-Lux Series is worth a look. These 3-element Kellner eyepieces have a 56-degree field of view and have a 2" barrel that is threaded to accept most 2" filters. The E-Lux Series also sports very good eye relief, which makes them easy to look through even if you need to wear glasses.

Celestron X-Cel LX Eyepieces: The X-Cel LX eyepieces were designed with planetary viewing in mind, although they work fine with all celestial objects. Features include a 1.25" barrel, a 60-degree field of view, pop-up eyecup to reduce glare when needed, and a comfortable 16 mm of eye relief. The Celestron X-Cel LX eyepieces are also par focal, which means there will be very little, if any, refocusing required as you switch between eyepieces.

Celestron Luminos Eyepieces: The Luminos series is just the thing for larger deep-sky objects. The 82-degree field of view is very popular with astronomers for it's "porthole in space" feeling. The Celestron Luminos eyepieces are par focal, come in both 1.25" and 2" sizes depending on the focal length, have great eye relief and pop-up eyecups.

Celestron Ultima Edge Eyepieces: A great acquisition for EdgeHD telescope owners or anyone else who enjoys the benefits of a flat field! The Ultima Edge Series sports both 1.25" and 2" eyepieces in its line, with a field of view range of 60-70 degrees, depending on the focal length. The eye relief is excellent on these eyepieces, and they are designed with 8 fully multi-coated elements for sharp, crisp, high contrast views across the entire field.
