Explore Scientific 80 mm Triplet ED APO Refractor

This Explore Scientific refractor is an apochromatic telescope that will assist you in your adventures through the night sky. Whether you are looking to explore the structure of Saturn's rings or the Moon's surface, this refractor will help you spot those bright deep sky objects.

The Explore Scientific ED80 APO Triplet is an 80mm f/6 telescope that is great for observing as well as astrophotography. The air-spaced triplet design helps eliminate chromatic aberrations so observers can have images that are free of distortion and have true color rendition. That, coupled with the use of Hoya ED glass and proprietary EMD enhanced multi-layer deposition coatings, users can be assured that this telescope will give crisp, high-contrast views.

Due to its compact size, this telescope can even be mounted on other larger telescopes to give a more versatile observation setup. In addition, the included dovetail foot will fit Explore Scientific mounts, Vixen mounts, and Meade LXD55/75 mounts. The included Hybrid Finder Scope base can accept all legacy Explore Scientific finder scope brackets, as well as the mini dovetail type (Vixen, Synta, Celestron). Made of rugged, black anodized metal with chrome-plated metal screws.

It comes equipped with a 99% dielectric-coated 2" diagonal and 1.25" adapter. The 10:1 dual speed Crayford style focuser comes complete with adjustable tension and a locking mechanism as well as two extension tubes.

The body of the Explore Scientific refractor is constructed from aluminum and stainless steel. After construction, it was given an aesthetically pleasing white finish.
