Meade LPI-G Lunar Planetary Imager and Guider



With this small, lightweight Meade solar, lunar and planetary guide camera, you will experience the universe on a whole new level. The Meade LPI-G comes with a 1/3" AR130 monochrome CMOS imaging sensor that is manufactured by ON Semiconductor. It sports an image array of 1280 x 960 with a pixel size of 3.75 microns square. The LPI-G can capture 28 frames per second at full resolution, and 30 fps at 640 x 480.



When you use the Meade LPI-G as an imaging camera, you'll be taking monochrome pictures of the Moon, planets, and Sun (with appropriate filters) in no time with the high-performance CMOS sensor! Its machined 1.25" nosepiece is threaded to accept filters, and easily connects to a 1.25" focuser or adapter...just like a 1.25" eyepiece. There are no batteries to worry about, and no external power supply is required. Just plug the Meade LPI-G into your computer with the included USB 2.0 cable and use the included Sky Capture software to do image capture or record and process video.



The Meade LPI-G also makes a great guide camera, and is compatible with a number of guiding and imaging programs such as Maxim DL, PHD, and FireCapture. The included ST-4 cable is compatible with a wide variety of mounts.



Minimum requirements for Sky Capture:



  • Operating System: Windows (32 & 64 bit) Vista/XP/7/8/10, Mac OSX, Linux

  • Processor: Intel Core2 2.8 GHz equivalent or higher

  • Memory: 2GB or higher
