The GLM-1 Lens Plate is 6.5 inches long, and cut from " thick aluminum, and comes with Safety Stops installed. It comes supplied with 3 screws to attach the lens plate to the lens foot: a pair of .25"x20 screws, and a 3/8"x16 screw. However this is where the Custom Brackets GLM-1 differs from other lens plates: instead of providing a hex key to install the screws, the screws instead have a built in 1" wide D-Ring. The D-Ring is more than strong enough to fully tighten the screw, and then folds neatly out of the way. In addition, the screws also have a nice deep screwdriver slot, wide enough to insert a key or quarter into should the need arise. So no more hiking 7 miles up the side of a mountain with your 600mm f4, only to find a screw on the plate has come loose (or worse, you forgot to attach the lens plate altogether), and you left your hex key back in the car.
