Terms and Conditions:
RETURN POLICY: Defective products are subject to the manufacturer’s warranty policies and will be handled in the most efficient manner. Depending on the specific problem, this may require returning the item directly to the manufacturer. High Point Scientific will assist you in resolving warranty issues with the manufacturer.
Non-Defective product returns will be accepted up to 14 days after delivery/receipt of the item. No returns on opened software, publications or electrical components. All returned products are subject to a minimum 15% restocking fee. All return shipping and insurance charges are your responsibility. The only exception to this is if High Point Scientific shipped the wrong item in the first place.
You can minimize or possibly eliminate the restocking fee by following the steps below:

Upon receipt, returned items will be inspected and a determination will be made as to the total restocking fee to be charged.
We do not sell, as new, any non-defective items returned to us. Returned items are checked and resold at a discount. The discount is dependent on the condition and the resale potential of the returned items. Items that have been returned are sold at star parties, at our store or at shows where inspection is possible.
Ordering Mistakes and Compatibility of Products: It is ultimately your responsibility to make sure the products you order from this us will be compatible with each other or with the equipment you already own. For example: you normally do not want to buy a solar filter for an 11” telescope if you have a 14”. If you have any question regarding the use or compatibility of the products you are planning to order please contact us first. The staff at High Point will make every effort to check compatibility issues. Mistakes in ordering end up costing everyone involved so please be sure before you order. Products returned for this reason are subject to our normal return policies. SHIPPING and HANDLING:
Shipping and handling charges stated on this site are estimates only. Total Shipping and Handling charges are based on the amount of packing involved, shipping method, the total number of items shipped, total shipment weight and the shipping address. Once the shipment leaves our facility we have no ability to control delivery. However, normal shipping times are from 2 to 7 business days.
Items are shipped FOB from Montague NJ. Drop shipments are FOB from the shipment origination point.
Postal Shipping: Due to the high incidence of losses and the delays in loss recovery, we prefer not to ship items through the United States Post Office. If you request, in writing, shipment by the USPS, we will honor your request. Please note: if your package is lost and a claim has to be filed we reserve the right to charge a $50.00 service fee for filing the claim and doing the necessary follow up tracking the loss. In addition there may be up to a 6-month delay in resolving a loss.
Signature: For your protection and due to the high incidence of fraud and theft we normally request UPS to obtain an adult signature on packages valued over $750.00. While inconvenient for some, the adult signature requirement helps to cut down on theft and Credit Card Fraud in addition to reducing the time recovering a loss. While we strongly advise against it, you may request in writing either by email or fax for us to drop this delivery requirement. These requests are handled on a case-by-case basis and may require you to give additional shipping and credit card information. Please contact us for details.
Shipping Damage: Please inspect the package when delivered. Look for signs of damage or abuse and if possible, point this out to the delivery person immediately. Let them advise you as to the best course of action at this point. If upon opening the package you discover hidden product damage, stop removing the goods and contact your local delivery terminal ASAP. They will advise you what to do next.
Hazardous Materials: Products requiring special handling may incur additional shipping charges. You will be contacted prior to shipping to inform you of any extra charges due to complying with these rules.
