Super versatile, the Apertura 60mm Doublet APO can be used as a travel telescope, a guide scope, a super finder or a spotting scope! You'll be happy with the compactness of the 60EDR! Learn more about the Apertura 60EDR in our comprehensive video below.

Weighing just 3.25 pounds, this attractive scope is just 9.5" long with the dew shield retracted fully, and even with a fully extended dew shield, it is just a tad over 12". Whether you want to use the 60 EDR for visual observations or astrophotography, this 60mm refractor will provide spectacular images of objects in our solar system, bright deep-sky objects, the Sun (with proper safe filtration), animals, landscapes, and more!

A Solid Portable Option!

With its tripod or lightweight star-tracker/ mount friendly design, the Apertura 60 FPL-53 Doublet APO Refractor is an good portable option! From a compact construction to an industry leading warranty, see what makes this a tried-and-true entry in Apertura's lineup!

Compact Design
Apertura has designed this telescope for optimum attractiveness and functionality. Coming in at just over 12" with the dew shield fully extended, this scope is seriously compact. The compact size means that this OTA can easily accompany you as you travel to spot the best celestial objects to observe and/or image. With a hinged ring that drops down to a sturdy foot with 1/4-20 threads, this scope is a perfect match for a photographic tripod; but attach a dovetail like the Apertura Essentials Vixen V Style 7" Plate and this is just as at home in a Vixen astronomy mount saddle! This small OTA can also be mounted to larger telescope with a dovetail. To do this, remove the hinged ring and with a user supplied finder bracket (make sure to measure the largest diameter to make sure the refractor will fit inside), mount the 60EDR to the larger telescope, and you have a fantastic finderscope that can accept multiple eyepieces!

Dual-Speed Rack & Pinion Focuser
The focuser that comes with Apertura telescope is a 2" rack and pinion focuser with a 10:1 micro focuser. You can easily make bigger changes to their focus with the large knob and then refine that focus by turning the smaller knob. For astrophotographers Apertura has also included a camera rotator that makes adjusting your framing easy. Looking to add an electronic focuser? Well you're in luck here too - with Apertura's digital guide (available in the Product Attachments tab), you can quickly and easily attach ZWO's popular EAF (sold separately)!

Apertura 2" Field Flattener (Sold Separately)
For those looking to enhance the imaging performance of the 60EDR, Apertura has you covered with a dedicated field flattener for this scope and the 72EDR! Available separately or as part of this 60EDR bundle, this corrective lens flattens the photographic image across a full-frame image circle to quash distortion and improve start shapes. In addition this provides an M48 connection point for common T-Rings or dedicated astronomy camera spacers (sold separately), as well as a 2" filter cell! This cell allows you to easily add a user supplied imaging filter into your setup to push performance even further, without the added bulk or headache of a filter drawer. It's even adjustable for fine tuning of your imaging system!

Comes with the Apertura Absolute Warranty
The Apertura Absolute Warranty provides two years of coverage against product defects. After the initial two-year warranty expires, this product qualifies for Apertura's Three-Year Accident Replacement Program. In addition, the Apertura Absolute Warranty is transferable!
