Apertura Self-Centering 80 mm Extension Tube - 2"
Apertura's self-centering Extension Tube is CNC machined for excellent quality and function. It provides 80 mm, or 3.15", of extension as a tool to help achieve focus during astroimaging sessions. Not only can this extension tube be used during astrophotography, it allows a telescope that has been designed for imaging to focus with an eyepiece. This means that telescope can be used for visual observing as well!
The diameter of the 80 mm extension tube is 2", and the total length is 115mm. There are threads on the barrel to accept 2" filters.
The helical compression mechanism on the Apertura Self-Centering Extension Tube provides a safely hold that allows you to accurately center your 2" accessory in place. The helical holding mechanism is provides extra safety when compared to the simple thumbscrew locking method. This is because it will push the inserted barrel laterally, and your accessory will be off-center.
To use the self-centering extension tube, you must rotate the knurled top ring to lock your accessory in place. Then, twist in the opposite direction to release it.
