More About Astronomik 1.25" LRGB Filters

For pure color facsimiles of planets, stars, emission nebulae, and reflection nebulae, Astronomik 1.25" round, mounted LRGB filters are tough to beat. Featuring transmission properties enhanced for CCD imaging, these filters allow the procurement of correct color images for a wide range of objects. Unlike filters from other brands that make bizarre compromises, Astronomik filters offer the greatest possible color facsimile. You'll see stars as well as objects that only emit in spectral lines in their true colors. The color in your resulting images will be so flawless, it will be as if the objects were bright enough to see with the sun out. This is what differentiates Astronomik filters from filters other manufacturers have developed.

The act of taking the image is not the end of the process for Astronomik. They realize that astrophotographers want a tool that offers a simple, efficient editing procedure. To retain the color, Astronomik has calculated their filter set for the sRGB color space, used as an industry standard for companies that produce monitors, printers, and imaging software. Astronomik L-RGB filters separate the spectrum into four components: red, green, blue, and luminance. Hence color separation can be attained with pure black & white CCD sensors. The separation corresponds to the human eye's color sensitivity per DIN 5032. Use of the sRGB color space allows image color to be maintained throughout the complete image processing and output. The Astronomik L-RGB filter set enables the production of ideal raw material for image processing in the sRGB color space.

Astronomik filters are parfocal with wedge errors under all typical margins because of the carrier substrate's high-precision machining. Diffraction limited, these filters will not be the bottleneck in an otherwise high-quality optical system. No longer will you have to worry about focal distance problems or the precise location of the images in each color image!
