More About the Astronomik UHC EOS M Clip Filter

Astronomik UHC filters are made for deep sky observation. With this filter, nearly all h-beta and O-III emission line radiation gets through. And for the h-alpha line, a second bandpass guarantees this radiation also makes it to the eye, while spurious light from other wavelengths is obstructed. Because of the strong reduction of the sky background, gas and planetary nebulae show a surprising amount of detail. Due to its high transmission, the UHC filter provides sufficient light for viewing deep sky objects accurately, even with smaller telescopes.

This filter works best with telescopes featuring focal ratios between f/4 and f/15. Loss of transmission and color displacement, which can be a problem with other filters on the market, only crop up with Astronomik filters when ultra fast focal ratios of f/3 or less are in play. Astronomik's UHC filters work with 2" apertures and above, but work especially well with 5" telescopes and above. When measured against other available filters, the Astronomik UHC filter displays more stars along with more nebula characteristics, and due to the high quality of the glass, you will be able to view stars as tiny pinpoints.

Coatings are completely sealed and immune to moisture. They do not change with time, keeping their transmission characteristics indefinitely. Astronomik UHC filter coatings are so tough that it is impossible to scratch them by mistake. To get even the finest of scratches, you would have to rub them with sandpaper! Astronomik EOS M Clip Filter System

Exclusive to Astronomik, this EOS M Clip-Filter system is constructed from black anodized aluminum and laser-cut on modern machinery. In a matter of mere seconds, this filter can be inserted directly into the body of Canon EOS M model cameras such as the M1, M10, M3, M5, M6, and M50. No adjustments are necessary and all lens operations such as focus, screen, and image stabilization, remain operational! These filters are also compatible with all EF-M lenses known at present, as well as with all other lenses with Canon EF and EF-S bayonets via an adapter. Telescope use is of course also a possibility. This system also doubles as a dust protector, keeping dust from gathering on your sensor during long exposures.
