Baader Planetarium

In 1966, Claus Baader, the founder of today's Baader Planetarium, designed a sophisticated orrery and had it patented. One of the coolest design elements was a semi-opaque dome that enclosed the orrery, and represented the celestial sphere in a very realistic way. It was considered the best available on a mass-produced basis, and introduced countless students, over the course of 35 years, to celestial mechanics with the help of a Baader Planetarium.

Throughout the years that followed, the Baader family has continued to offer quality Baader Planetarium eyepieces and filters, as well as other telescope accessories, to amateur astronomers all over the world. They are known for their patented Baader AstroSolar Safety Film, as well as their line of Baader Hyperion eyepieces, but they make so much more than that! Quality German engineering is apparent in all Baader Planetarium eyepieces and filters, from their MaxBright Click-Lock 2" Dielectric Diagonal to a full line of astronomy filters for both visual and photographic use. The staff at High Point is happy to have the opportunity to recommend the entire line of Baader Planetarium eyepieces and filters to our customers.
