Offering remarkable outdoor performance, Celestron 8x42 TrailSeeker ED Binoculars are an optimal fit for anyone interested in bird watching, hunting, or viewing nature. These binoculars are jam-packed with features, both optical and mechanical as well as ergonomic, that make them comparable to much more expensive binoculars costing up to five times as much.

ED Objective Lenses

Also known as color fringing, chromatic aberration is a visual defect commonly encountered in binoculars. This is essentially eliminated with Extra-Low Dispersion (ED) glass. Celestron TrailSeeker ED Binoculars provide sharpness from edge to edge with superb color correction and razor-sharp images.

Not all ED glass is created equal. Celestron’s high quality ED glass delivers visibly brighter, sharper images compared to non-ED binoculars. The difference is especially apparent in low light conditions, such as at dawn or dusk.

Coatings and Prisms

TrailSeeker ED Binoculars contain fully multi-coated optics, as well as BaK-4 prisms with phase and dielectric coatings. For a binocular to be deemed "fully multi-coated," all air-to-glass surfaces must be coated with multiple layers of anti-reflectivity coatings to allow the greatest amount of light possible be transmitted through to the viewer's eye.

The TrailSeeker ED's interior prism contains both phase and dielectric coated high quality BaK-4 glass that allows more light to reflect off the prism and be redirected to the eye. This combination of BaK-4 prisms and full multi-coatings enables the most brilliant, highly detailed images possible by maximizing light transmission.

Body

Composed of a lightweight and durable magnesium allow, these TrailSeeker ED 8x42 Binoculars have a tough, rigid frame coated with rubber to stand up to hard use in the field. Furthermore, this binocular is fully waterproof and filled with dry nitrogen gas to prevent internal fogging of lenses. TrailSeeker ED can stand up to even the toughest outdoor conditions.

Viewing through TrailSeeker ED binoculars is a comfortable experience for both eyeglass wearers and non-eyeglass wearers alike, thanks to the durable twist-up eyecups. Twist through multiple click stops to find the position that works best for you.

Perfect for a Variety of Uses

With a close focus of just 6.5 feet, TrailSeeker ED is perfect for viewing birds, butterflies, plants, or other nearby subjects. But this 8x42 binocular also provides the magnification necessary for great views of objects in the distance, plus a wide field of view so you can easily follow them as they move. No matter how you choose to observe, these versatile binoculars are an excellent all-around performer.
