A Computerized Telescope Engineered for Excellence!

Known for their industry leading optics and high performing mounts, Celestron has developed this Advanced VX 700 Maksutov-Cassegrain for those looking to take their astronomy journey to the next level. The wide 7” in aperture produces bright, highly detailed views and the patented Celestron StatBright XLT coatings deliver maximum light transmission, enhancing its performance even more. Perfect for visual astronomers and astrophotographers alike, this Celestron AVX 700 Maksutov-Cassegrain Computerized Telescope is ideal for any astronomy enthusiast!

Carrying this 7” OTA is the popular Celestron Advanced VX. The payload of 30lbs comfortably supports this 19lb, 2700mm focal length telescope, and provides smooth, even tracking across the night sky. As the most compact of the high performing Celestron German Equatorial Mounts, this system can easily be taken with you on all of your astronomy endeavors! Enjoy adding a wide variety of optional accessories with the included AUX ports, and rest everything atop the sturdy, stainless steel tripod.

Outstanding Optics. Incredible Versatility. This AVX 700 Mak Is a Must Have!

Celestron has crafted this Advanced VX Series 7" Maksutov-Cassegrain with outstanding light gathering abilities and impressive tracking precision in a compact frame. This pairing suits both visual astronomers and astrophotographers, is perfect for travelling to dark sites or engaging in backyard observing, and can be adorned with accessories of your choice. Read more about this Celestron Computerized Telescope below and see why it's a cut above the rest!

Large Aperture & Sharp Views
The Maksutov-Cassegrain, often referred to as a “Mak”, is a type of catadioptric telescope, meaning it’s furnished with both a lens and mirror. As opposed to a Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope, a Mak utilizes a “secondary spot” in lieu of a secondary mirror. This secondary spot is a highly reflective coating applied within the corrector lens, and is much smaller than the secondary mirrors found within SCTs. This means more light is able to reach the primary mirror for brighter, higher contrast views! Another bonus, collimation is not required as frequently as seen with SCTs. Something to note, the thicker corrector lens found within Maks have a slower time adjusting to the ambient air temperature than SCTs of the same size aperture. With this in mind, taking the time to fully acclimate your telescope to the surrounding temperature results in the best possible user experience. With its focal length of 2700mm and f/15 focal ratio, this telescope design was specialized for capturing small celestial objects, such as the planets, the craters on our Moon, and deep sky objects like planetary nebulae and globular clusters. Also, this Mak is equipped with the Celestron StarBright XLT coatings to maximize light transmission to the eyepiece or camera for sights with unrivaled clarity!

30lb Payload, High Precision Tracking
A medium payload capacity, accurate tracking, and many other features make the Celestron Advanced VX a fitting choice to pair with the 7” Maksutov-Cassegrain. This AVX can be loaded with up to 30lbs of equipment (noting its payload capacity does not include the weight of the included 12lb counterweight), and carries this 19lb telescope with ease. Integer gear ratios coupled with programmable periodic error correction (PPEC) help improve tracking and GoTo performances for steady views and images. Also, built in backlash compensation reduces any play that may exist between the gears for even higher accuracy. This AVX has been strategically designed to break down into multiple components to make traveling a breeze, and with the mount head weighing only 17lbs and tripod 18lbs, you're sure to be out and observing as often as possible! Multiple ports make it easy to add user supplied devices such as an autoguider, and the tripod spreader bar doubles as an accessory tray to help keep you organized. Additional qualities such as an extended operational latitude range from 7° to 77°, a threaded power port, and a dual-saddle plate elevate your experience even more! Please note: while supporting Celestron CG-5, CGE, and Vixen style dovetail bars, the AVX is not compatible with Losmandy D-style plates.

Ideal for Visual Astronomy and Astrophotography
At 7” in aperture, benefit from the best of both worlds! Coming standard with a 28mm eyepiece, enjoy incredible detail along the Moon’s Terminator Line, Saturn’s rings, the cloud bands on Jupiter, and plenty more. The included star diagonal further enhances your visual experience by providing comfortable viewing, and the 8x50 finderscope makes alignment a breeze! Or, attach your DSLR or dedicated astroimaging camera and share this beauty with friends and family. The robust design and inner workings of the AVX delivers high precision tracking and keeps your imaging equipment steady for the best possible frames. Whether using for visual or astrophotography, this AVX 7" Maksutov-Cassegrain is sure to impress!

Included NexStar+ Hand Controller
Equipped with a NexStar+ hand controller, easily find objects to observe, star align, and even polar align your mount! With the All Star Polar Alignment routine built into this hand controller, polar alignment can be achieved even with obstructed views of the celestial poles. An object database of over 40,000 objects and the ability to add 100 user defined targets will have you exploring the cosmos night after night, and 19 large, back lit buttons are clearly labeled and easy to navigate. Enjoy clear 2 line x 18 character lettering with the Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) screen, illuminated in red to help preserve your night vision! In addition, this controller has a USB port for connection to a PC for software control. Please note: Celestron does not include a USB cable with their hand controller. We recommend the Apertura USB 2.0 Cable for Celestron NexStar+ Hand Controllers.
