Having revolutionary technology built into every aspect of Celestron's SkyProdigy, it's no wonder why it is called the smartest telescope in the universe! Celestron's Skyprodigy sets the tone once again for incorporating innovative technology and ease of use. The SkyProdigy comes complete with an onboard computer, combining electronic motors, a digital camera, and SmartSense technology. SmartSense Technology allows for automated alignment which requires no input from the user. This feature makes the SkyProdigy an easy to use, quick, efficient, and intelligent product.

With over 4,000 objects in the SkyProdigy database, there are endless options for observation. Another great feature of the SkyProdigy is its SkyTour which provides a customized list of some of the best objects in the sky. The SkyTour will select the best view for the exact time and location of where you are observing to give you the best view possible.

No need for any prior knowledge of the night sky; Celestron's SkyProdigy makes observing possible for anyone. With such innovative technology and with just a touch of a button, anyone can turn into an instant astronomer! The Skyprodigy uses an integrated imaging camera and patented StarSense Technology to automatically align with the night sky and determine where the telescope is currently pointing. The camera automatically captures an image of the sky and then processes internally what is being viewed to correctly identify the stars in the image. After finding a positive match the technology of the SkyProdigy calculates the coordinates of the center of whatever image is being captured.

This process will automatically repeat two additional times so that the system has three known alignment points. By providing three alignment points the telescope can display an accurate model of the night sky, making subsequent pointing and observation easy. With this information, the user can then select objects from the hand controller's database and the SkyProdigy will adjust accordingly to the correct position. With such innovative technology, ease of use, and quick processing, Celestron SkyProdigy is a great product for just about anyone!

Customer Please Note: The SkyProdigy's internal camera does not have an external output allowing users to view or save captured images. All captured images are used internally by the telescope software, for the sole purpose of location and self-alignment.
