Celestron Light Pollution Imaging Filter for the RASA 11

This 72 mm light pollution suppression filter was specially made for the Celestron 11" Rowe-Ackermann Schmidt Astrograph, a trusted and well-known astronomy filter manufacturer. The Light Pollution Suppression Filter is designed to take the place of a piece of “place holder” glass located in the optical window. This design element assures that the optical path of the RASA is left undisturbed.

The Celestron RASA Light Pollution Suppression Filter selectively removes light pollution while allowing over 90% transmission at critical wavelengths. The RASA Imaging Filter offers a more neutral color balance when compared to the performance of other light pollution filters, and if you’ve ever experienced the “too blue” or “too green” images from lesser filters, you will appreciate the attention to color balance.

This Celestron RASA Light Pollution Filter is constructed using the finest materials. Scott B270 glass is overlaid with hard dielectric coatings to help increase light transmission so that you can still image fainter objects. Multiple layers of anti-reflection coatings are also used to reduce internal reflections and those pesky halos. The housing is made of anodized aluminum.

The RASA LP Imaging filter has a diameter of 72 mm, a clear aperture of 68 mm, and a thickness of 2.1 mm. It’s generous size will accommodate today’s larger sensors. Each filter is individually tested for light transmission, and to prove it, you’ll receive the transmission spectrum of your filter in the package.
