Guan Seng Optical specializes in Ritchey-Chretiens and imaging Newtonians. Their scopes are a great choice for imaging everything from the Moon to distant, deep-space nebulae and star clusters. These imaging telescopes used to be out of reach for amateur astrophotographers because of their high price tag. However, GSO makes imaging telescopes affordable for everyone!
Ritchey-Chretien (RC) telescopes are being used in some of the world’s biggest and best observatories due to their color-free, coma-free, spherical aberration-free optics. Now GSO has made RC telescopes affordable for everyone, so even the backyard astrophotographer can enjoy capturing sharp, beautiful images.GSO’s RC telescopes come in a full range of aperture sizes. From the portable 6” to a powerful 16”, you are sure to find the size perfect for your astro-imaging pursuits. They also come in several different tube styles, such as carbon fiber, truss tube, and steel.
GSO also designs quality imaging Newtonians. Like ordinary Newtonians, imaging Newtonians are reflector telescopes that use mirrors to capture light. However, imaging Newtonians are optimized for astrophotography. That does not mean you cannot use them for visual observations, but they will not yield as great results as used for imaging. GSO’s imaging Newtonian features a truss tube design that is lightweight and easy to transport. Each mirror has aluminum and quartz coatings for optimal reflectivity and protection.
