Orion GiantView BT-100 Binoculars

This Orion GiantView Binocular Telescope is a great way to observe the Moon and bright deep sky objects easily and comfortably! With the ability to use both eyes, there is an incredible amount of depth with each observation, and you may find that each observation is much more relaxing because of the almost 3-dimensional feel that these binoculars provide.

The 3.9" (100mm) aperture of the objective lenses means that these GiantView Binos gather 56% more light than even a large pair of 80mm astronomy binoculars. The larger aperture means a wider field of view! So, adding these binoculars to your astronomy toolbox could mean that you can see more objects and the objects will have better clarity. It can even be used during the day for terrestrial observations! The eyepieces have a 45° angle so whether you are using the binoculars for terrestrial or celestial observing, you can rest assured that the viewing will be comfortable.

Included Eyepieces

Included with the Orion GiantView BT-100 Binoculars are two 18mm, 65° flat-field eyepieces with 1.25" barrels. They are threaded so you can even use 1.25" light pollution filters (not included) to improve contrast and ensure that you can use your BT-100 binoculars almost anywhere, even in a place with some urban lighting. Imagine getting amazing views of the Orion Nebula while comfortably viewing from your own backyard! Please note, however, that while light pollution filters will help improve contrast and block incoming wavelengths emitted by urban lighting, your views will be best with clear skies and in places that are darkest.

GiantView BT-100 Bincular Body

Orion has designed the BT-100 binoculars to have a sealed construction with nitrogen purging making the binoculars waterproof. Though they are waterproof, these are not meant to be permanently mounted, so make sure to store the binoculars in a dry place when not in use.

The body of the binoculars weigh a total of 14.5 pounds and must have a binocular mount (not included) that is sturdy so the binos stay stable during viewing. The BT-100 has a threaded 1/4"-20 socket so users can attach a mount or dovetail plate.

Please Note : Orion does not recommend using standard field tripods with the GiantView BT-100 Binoculars.
