The Pegasus Astro Motor Focus Kit v2!

With changes in temperature throughout imaging sessions, the body of your telescope expands or contracts, causing the focal point of your optics to shift. Periodic refocusing is required in order to maintain image quality. This can prove to be wearisome during long imaging sessions, especially in cold weather. Adding an electronic focuser to your set up eliminates this stress by automating your focusing routine! Software coordinates with this Motor Focus Kit v2 to bring your telescope into sharp focus in no time. Installation is quick and easy, and you can set how often you’d like to refocus your optics for photos brimming with clarity.

Equipped with two L- brackets and supporting a payload capacity of 13lbs (6kg), the universal design of this focus motor allows attachment to a wide variety of set ups. Enjoy precise focusing performance thanks to the high resolution internal gearbox, low backlash, and step size of 0.06 degrees. Important note: As this device is solely a motor kit, you will need a user supplied motor controller to drive the motor. Connect the Dual Motor Focus Controller, Pegasus Astro Ultimate Powerbox, or eXternal Motor Controller for full functionality of this Motor Focus Kit v2.

Effortless Installation on a Wide Range of Telescopes!

Attaching this Motor Focus Kit v2 to your telescope is simple and straightforward! This system replaces the course focusing knob on your telescope and uses motors for smooth, precise focusing. The couplers provided allows for adaptation to numerous different focusing shafts. One side of the coupler connects to your telescope, while the other side fits to the focuser. Five different coupler sizes are available: 5-4mm, 5-5mm, 5-6mm, 5-7mm, and 5-8mm. Unsure if these couplers will fit your telescope? You can easily check by comparing the diameter of your focusing shaft with the couplers provided! Installation is simple: remove the course focusing knob on your telescope, attach the appropriate coupler to the focusing shaft, then join the focuser to the coupler. Afterwards, fasten the L-shaped black anodized aluminum bracket to secure everything in place. This Pegasus Astro Motor Focus Kit is known to be compatible with telescope series from Apertura, SharpStar, Askar, William Optics, Sky-Watcher, and more!

Multiple Means of Control
This Motor Focuser Kit requires an external control system for operation. Three different Pegasus Astro products are ideal for this: the Dual Motor Focus Controller, Ultimate Powerbox V1, V2, V3, or the eXternal Motor Controller. The Dual Motor Focus Controller offers connection to your computer for software functionality and also provides manual focus of this motor. Similarly, the Ultimate Powerbox also allows for computer connection and supplies power to your motor and other equipment you may have, though does not offer manual focus abilities. These two devices utilize ASCOM and INDI drivers for use with almost any image capture platform. If you already have an Ultimate Powerbox V2 and would like to expand its focusing capabilities, add the eXternal Motor Controller, which was designed with an additional EXT port. You can also utilize this eXternal Motor Controller to bring focus functionality to the Pocket Powerbox Advance or Pocket Powerbox Micro.
