Stellarvue 152 mm f/8 APO Refractor w/Moonlite WR35 Focuser

The SVX152T is Stellarvue's flagship 152 mm f/8 Apochromatic Triplet Refractor Telescope. Its high Strehl FPL-53 Ohara triplet features a traditional front element, Ohara FPL-53 center element, and Lanthanum rear element that maximizes sharpness and contrast. Power-coated in Stellervue Instrument White with the Stellarvue logo engraved on the dew shield, this aluminum optical tube comes with the Moonlite Nitecrawler 3.5" rotating focuser as well as threaded adapters to enable both visual and photographic use.

SVX series optics are rated at .98 - .996 Strehl with excellent optical correction for aberrations commonly seen in mass produced optics. To attain this level of optical accuracy it is usually necessary for us to go beyond machine polishing. Special tools are made and experienced opticians hand figure objectives here in Stellarvue's optical shop in Auburn, California. While Stellarvue's former models (without the X designation) were all excellent coming in at .95 Strehl or higher, SVX series telescopes are even more exceptional, placing 98 - 99% of the light precisely where it should be. Stellarvue Premier (X) Series refractors are for the astronomer who recognizes the best when they see it. Each SVX series refractor comes with a Zygo interferometric test report taken in their shop, documenting the final accuracy of your objective!

The SVX152T, Stellarvue's highest resolution telescope, offers impeccable performance as both a visual and a photographic instrument. In order to use this system for photographic purposes, you must use the correct field flattener or flattener/reducer. Short focuser travel gives the incredible Moonlite 3.5" focuser the ability to support even the largest/heaviest of accessories without stress. Several large extension tubes make this focuser compatible with various accessories, while a visual back for 2" eyepieces, 1.25" adapter, and threaded M75x1 adapter are included to make it suitable for use with Stellarvue photographic field flatteners. This focuser operates manually or with a hand control.

Stellarvue SVX152T APO Triplet Refractor Highlights

Objective Lens: Air spaced with 152 mm aperture and 1200 mm focal length (f/7.9), this fully multi-coated apochromatic triplet refractor uses a combination of an Ohara FPL-53 extra-low dispersion center element and a Lanthanum rear element. The lens is mounted in an adjustable cell that compensates for temperature.

Tube Assembly: Fully baffled 6 1/8" diameter optical tube with all aluminum construction and an Instrument White finish. Measures 41" long with the dew shield retracted and 48.5" long with the dew shield extended. The dew shield is 7 3/8" wide and 11 3/4" in total length. Comes complete with black anodized aluminum fittings and laser engraved logo.

Weight: The OTA weighs 31 lbs. total with the rings and TP13 Losmandy-style dovetail rail added. Includes the massive fully motorized and rotatable 3.5" Nitecrawler WR-35 focuser from Moonlite.

Rings: Extremely heavy-duty American-made CNC-machined mounting rings with 6061 T6 aluminum plate. Five threaded 1/4-20 holes on the top and bottom are spaced 1.5" and 60 mm apart with one in the center. A 5 mm side hole allows for reflect finder mounting.

Case: The SVX152T comes with a tough roadie-style hard case made in the USA using 3/8" plywood and featuring a durable hard cover, handle, and wheels. Stellarvue's F50W2 Correct Image Optical Finder and Rings is also included.

Star Diagonal: An optional 2" Quartz Dielectric Diagonal is available as an upgrade for only $199. This is the same diagonal as the D1040Q Deluxe Dielectric Diagonal but without the 1.25" adapter.

Photographic Field Flattener: Stellarvue SFF3-152 field flatteners are separately available for shooting at f/8.

Light Gain: 471.5x the naked eye.

Color Correction (1-10): 10

Resolution: 76 arc seconds

Maximum Magnification: Depends on seeing conditions. There is no reason a high end, hand crafted Apochromat cannot be taken to 100x per inch under steady skies.

About the Optional 2" Quartz Diagonal Deal - See Drop-Down Above

Save $50 on the Stellarvue 2" Quartz Diagonal when you purchase it together with this telescope. If you add the diagonal to your order it will be packed safely away in the included telescope case along with your new refractor. The Stellarvue diagonal uses a thick, oversized mirror polished to 1/10th wave. The mirror has a protective, dielectric coating with 99% reflectivity. It has a compression ring eyepiece tube and the insert tube is beveled to better seat the diagonal in the focuser. A rubber grip on the 2" tube allows for easy handling in cold climates. This 2" diagonal is assembled, adjusted and double tested at Stellarvue for perfect alignment and performance. The five-point cushion system eliminates pinching in all climates and the precision CNC machined components assure perfect alignment that stays that way. Use the focuser's 1.25" adapter with the diagonal when you want to view through your 1.25" eyepieces.
