iOptron SkyGuider Pro Camera Mount with iPolar

The new SkyGuider™ Pro Camera Mount with iPolar is a leader in camera tracking; the iOptron SkyGuider Pro moves nearer to perfection.

This mount has been remodeled to be more compact than its predecessor, the iOptron SkyGuider Pro is small enough to fit in the palm of your hand, and that's with the included iPolar! It features improved precision, silent tracking, an integrated rechargeable power source, ST-4 guiding port, and camera trigger port. The improved precision polar scope retains an elegantly engraved reticle and now offers modifiable illumination with various levels of brightness. Accurate polar alignment is a snap with iOptron's iOS app. Includes a DEC mounting bracket for balancing heavy cameras, lenses, or both. You can even mount a light telescope! With the iPolar, alignment is even easier, and it works well with even the southern hemisphere!

The iOptron SkyGuider™ Pro has four tracking rates: 1X or sidereal, 1/2X for combined sky and landscape, solar, and lunar. These tracking rates are suitable for the northern as well as the southern hemisphere. In addition, iOptron has added a quick slew mode with both forward and reverse for speedy image reframing without upsetting the position of the camera.

iOptron has improved the SkyGuider Pro's detachable alt-azimuth base, which has a precision bubble level, altitude degree markings, and a built-in post for azimuth control. The SkyGuider Pro head can also be mounted, sans base, directly to all standard photographic tripods that have 1/4" or 3/8" threads.

The package that comes with the DEC mounting bracket includes a 3 lb. counterweight, counterweight shaft, and Vixen-style dovetail saddle. This enables the SkyGuider™ Pro Camera Mount to work with heavier camera/lens systems, and even lighter optical tubes.

For those interested in wide field astrophotography for capturing beautiful Astro scapes, the SkyGuider™ Pro Mount is an essential tool.

iOptron SkyGuider Pro Camera Mount Highlights

iOptron's iPolar Electronic Polar Scope

With the iPolar e-Polarscope from iOptron, accurate polar alignment has never been so simple! All you have to do is place the plus symbol over the graphical representation of the celestial pole's location. When these two symbols are aligned they represent a precise polar alignment, allowing you to get the best performance possible from your ZEQ25 or CEM25 equatorial mount.

The iOptron iPolar™ utilizes an electronic camera that is aligned with both the axes of your mount. The downloadable Windows software processes the camera's images to calculate the true location of the celestial pole (north or south) and then guides you through any adjustments needed to align your mount precisely to the pole. Gone are the days of crouching behind a "through the mount" polar scope! Instead, the iPolar™ facilitates making altitude and azimuth adjustments by just glancing at your PC's monitor. This system needs as few as four stars to locate the pole, and can do so even when the pole location itself is blocked by clouds, tree branches or other obstructions.

iPolar e-PolarScope Features

  • The iPolar is fast and easy to use
  • 30 arcsec precision
  • With iPolar, there is no need to see the Pole Star or rotate the mount during alignment
  • Unique imaging enhancement technique
  • Smart plate solving
  • On screen instruction during alignment
