Automated Focus for Your SCT with the Pegasus Astro Motor Focus Kit Zero!

The addition of a motorized focuser greatly enhances your astrophotography sessions by providing ease of use and convenience! Software determines accurate focus, letting you maximize the sharpness within your photos. This is particularly useful during long, overnight imaging sessions. Changing temperatures shifts the focal point of your optics, requiring periodic refocusing. This can prove to be bothersome, especially in cold weather. A focus motor, such as this Motor Focus Kit Zero, does all of the hard work for you! Installation on your Schmidt–Cassegrain (SCT) or Rowe-Ackermann Schmidt Astrograph (RASA) is simple, and you can select how often you’d like to refocus your optics for photos brimming with clarity.

Equipped with a black anodized aluminum bracket, this Motor Focus Kit Zero provides automated focusing for SCT and RASA users. The bipolar stepper motor offers zero backlash and provides the torque necessary for SCT focusing. Utilizing a pulley system, this motor shifts focus smoothly and quickly, and prevents collision with your filter wheel when a focal reducer is used. Important note: As this device is solely a motor kit, you will need a user supplied motor controller to drive the motor. Connect the Dual Motor Focus Controller, Pegasus Astro Ultimate Powerbox, or eXternal Motor Controller for full functionality of this Motor Focus Kit Zero.

Effortless Installation on Your Celestron SCT, EdgeHD, and RASA!

Attachment of this Motor Focus Kit Zero is simple and straightforward! This system takes control of the focuser on your SCT or RASA and delivers precise focusing with the internal motors. An easy-to-install pulley system rotates the focusing shaft and works in conjunction with software to determine optimal focus. Simply attach the Motor Focus Kit Zero around your focusing shaft with the specialized bracket, connect one of the pulleys to the focusing shaft, then join the two pulleys with the included belt. This focus motor features a bore diameter of 13mm and has been designed to fit Celestron C6 - C9.25" SCTs, EdgeHDs, and RASA telescopes.

Multiple Means of Control
This Motor Focuser Kit requires an external control system for operation. Three different Pegasus Astro products are ideal for this: the Dual Motor Focus Controller, Ultimate Powerbox V2 or V3, or the eXternal Motor Controller. The Dual Motor Focus Controller offers connection to your computer for software functionality and also provides manual focus of this motor. Similarly, the Ultimate Powerbox also allows for computer connection and supplies power to your motor and other equipment you may have, though does not offer manual focus abilities. These two devices utilize ASCOM and INDI drivers for use with almost any image capture platform. If you already have an Ultimate Powerbox V2 and would like to expand its focusing capabilities, add the eXternal Motor Controller, which was designed with an additional EXT port. You can also utilize this eXternal Motor Controller to bring focus functionality to the Pocket Powerbox Advance or Pocket Powerbox Micro.
