A Great Blend of Power and Portability!
In addition to the optical tube, the 94EDPH also includes a tube ring and dovetail plate for connection to a mount, as well as a handle for easier portability. This refractor weighs in at just over seven pounds, making it portable and versatile.
Sharpstar has ensured that the aesthetics are something to be proud of. This white gloss optical tube with a retractable dew shield features a beautiful red finish trim and a matching anodized carry handle. To keep your telescope optical tube protected during times of storage and travel, Sharpstar has provided a hard carry case.
Triplet Refractor Optics
The 94EDPH features a triplet air-spaced design for chromatic aberration control, which is further enhanced thanks to the use of two extra-low dispersion glass elements. Featuring an f/5.5 focal ratio this scope has a focal length of 517 mm, allowing it to provide a 4-deg. x 2.6-deg field of view when paired with a full-frame camera. Coupled with the large 94mm front objective, this telescope is a great option for both visual and imaging use alike! To accommodate both types of hobbyists out-of-the-box, this scope includes both visual adapters - a 2" and 2"-to-1.25" - as well as a threaded connection for the included 0.8x focal reducer.
Dedicated 0.8x Reducer/ Flattener Included
Enhancing your Sharpstar 94EDPH experience is the inclusion of this 0.8x reducer. Four air-spaced lens elements brings the native Sharpstar 94EDPH focal length of 517mm down to 414mm while also hastening the focal ratio from to f/4.4! The M74x1 thread attaches seamlessly to your telescope, while the M48x0.75 camera thread offers connection to your imaging equipment. This focal reducer supports full frame imaging with its 50mm image circle, and is compatible with standard 2” filters.
2.5" Focuser
To ensure you can utilize the large 94mm optics Sharpstar has outfitted this telescope with a 2.5" rack-and-pinion focuser. This provides precise manual control via the 10:1 dual speed knobs, and supports bracket-style electronic focusers out of the box for those seeking motorized focus. For astrophotographers the focuser also features a camera rotator! Simply loosen the tensioning thumb screw to access 360-degrees of rotation, set your framing, and then tighten to lock in your image orientation. While Sharpstar is confident that the factory tension will suit most users, they've also added rotator adjustment points for those who like to fine tune.
Handy Extras
The 94EDPH comes with a number of other quality-of-life accessories that make it easy to use and store the telescope. The included scope rings and Vixen dovetail make it easy to securely install your scope in a wide variety of mounts, and comes with a findershoe base and convenient carry handle pre-installed. The carry handle additionally features passthrough slots, for those seeking more accessory real-estate. Finally, Sharpstar has included a foam padded hard case that can be use to safely secure the scope when in transport or not in use.
