The iOptron SmartStar® 60 mm Computerized GoTo Solar Telescope allows for daily sunspot tracking both in the classroom and at home. Perfect for viewing solar eclipses and transits in remote locations.



The iOptron Solar 60™ GPS comes with iOptron's own Alt-Azimuth mount, better known as "The Cube." This compact mount, named a Hot Product by Sky & Telescope Magazine in 2008, is one of the most highly functional, adaptable mount systems available. Both axis motors are assembled into single small unit with optical encoders that enable accurate GOTO and tracking. The iOptron Cube works in accordant with all telescopes using a dovetail connector plate.



The Solar 60™ GPS allows you to view the solar photosphere in tremendous detail with the included solar filter made of Solarlite, an impregnated polymer material that is absolutely safe for viewing the Sun. Solarlite has the optical qualities of glass but does not develop pinholes or scratches like glass can over time. Watch solar eclipses safely during partial phases, and watch as sunspots develop and change over several days. Track these magnetic giants as they rotate across the disk of the sun for an absolutely incredible view! The thread-on solar filter guarantees safe viewing and is easily removable for terrestrial or night sky observation.
