Stellarvue 4 mm 82º Ultra Wide Angle 1.25" Eyepiece - EUW-04.0

Stellarvue 4 mm 82º Ultra Wide Angle 1.25" Eyepiece

The Stellarvue 4mm Ultra Wide Angle Eyepiece really stands up to the competition! In fact, Vic Maris uses this eyepiece when he wants to show off his 102 mm and 130 mm APO Triplet telescopes to prospective customers. He could use any eyepiece, of course, but after doing side-by-side comparisons, Vic feels that his 4mm Ultra Wide Angle, with its expansive 82º apparent field of view, shows more detail in a variety of celestial objects.

The Stellarvue 4mm EUW comes with a standard 1.25” barrel for use in a wide variety of focusers. The optical set consists of seven (7) elements in four (4) groups. Each element is fully multi-coated and has blackened edges to increase contrast. The lens barrel and baffles are also dark black to eat up nasty internal reflections. You will reap the benefits of these extra steps with high contrast images that are not impeded by ghosting and/or flaring.

Enjoy three times the field when compared to a Plossl or other standard eyepiece with a 50º field of view! In most scopes, a 4 mm eyepiece will yield high magnifications, making the Stellarvue Ultra Wide Angle perfect for the Moon, planets, double stars, planetary nebulae, and other relatively “small” deep sky objects. The twist-up eyecup is a pleasure to use. Set it right where you want it, and enjoy the comfortable 12 mm of eye relief. Other features include a tapered barrel with filter threads and eyepiece caps to keep dust and particles off your glass when not in use.
