Celestron Equatorial Wedge
for NexStar 6/8 SE & NexStar Evolution Telescopes

Finally! Owners of Celestron NexStar 6SE, NexStar 8SE, and NexStar Evolutions can turn their alt-azimuth instruments into equatorial telescopes with the addition of the Celestron 93665 Wedge. Specially built with the Evolution and SE telescopes in mind, this Celestron Wedge is relatively lightweight (15 pounds) but has a 36 pound weight capacity, making it strong enough to easily carry an 8" OTA loaded with accessories. Re-engineered from the ground up, this wedge has an integrated bubble level and an easy to read latitude scale. All of the knobs are over-sized for easy adjustments, even under load, and no tools are required to set up or adjust in use.

Why add a wedge to your telescope? Astrophotography! An alt-azimuth motorized telescope is certainly capable of taking short exposures of bright objects like the Moon and planets, but if you want to do longer exposures of deep-sky objects, an equatorially mounted telescope is required to eliminate field rotation so your stars are pinpoints and your objects are nice and sharp. This Celestron wedge will allow you to set up your telescope to match your observing latitude, and when it tracks, instead of moving in a relatively straight line, your scope will move just like it would if it were mounted on a German equatorial mount. However, because your wedge is an accessory and not an integral part of your mount, you can remove it anytime to enjoy the portability and easy-going nature of a computerized alt-az mount.

Step into the world of deep-sky astrophotography with the Celestron Wedge and your NexStar Evolution or 6/8 SE telescope!
