Atik ACIS 2.4 Monochrome Camera

The body of the Atik 2.4 MP ACIS camera is designed to allow the camera to reach a cooling delta of -35°C below ambient, keeping the thermal noise under control, no matter where the imaging is taking place. When it comes to the sensor, you can rest assured that the design of this Atik camera combats condensation. The Sony IMX249 sensor is housed in the body of the ACIS camera which is dry, air-tight, and sealed to industrial standards. The cover glass is the same quartz fused glass used with series 4 Atik cameras. ACIS cameras, manufactured in Atik's ISO 9001 certified European premises, are fast imaging tools, meeting full frame speeds of up to 28 fps, that are built to provide reliable service and imaging for years to come.

The 5.86µm pixel size allows the Atik monochrome camera to be used with a variety of different telescopes. Additionally, Atik's ACIS 2.4 camera has low read noise and can image at rapid speeds at both 12 and 16-bit formats.

Atik ACIS cameras are compatible with Atik's Infinity live stacking software. This provides imagers incredible views of the night sky in a near real-time environment. The on-the-fly image processing helps astroimagers get going quickly and stay in control. The Infinity software comes with the following features: live continuous stacking, flexible histogram control with auto-stretch functions, live YouTube broadcast integration, interactive session replay, focus assist and monitoring tools, and saving capabilities for FITs, PNG, JPG, and TIFF formats.

Customers can also use Atik's Artemis Capture and Dusk software. Or, if users would like to utilize the supplied ASCOM driver, they can pick the astrophotography software used. When Dusk is used with the ROI function, the ACIS 2.4 can also be used for high speed planetary imaging with frame rates of up to 300 frames per second.

The Atik ACIS 2.4 camera has the three following modes: PowerSave Mode, Normal Mode, and Fast Mode. The PowerSave mode allows for high quality images and normal mode is the default setting and gives way to normal imaging. As for Fast mode, this mode utilizes the on-board DDR memory for a constant stream of images. This mode increases the frame rate to 30 fps. Furthermore, it can increase to 175 fps. with the use of sub framing, reaching 300 fps with the Dusk software.

When it comes to removing amp glow, the ACIS 2.4 camera benefits greatly from the built-in DDR3 image buffer. This also helps with other effects of data transfer over USB2.0 connections. No more worrying about dropped frames!

For those who need low light imaging, Atik has designed the ACIS camera with the philosophy to provide flexibility demanded by worldwide OEM customers. Atik recommends the following applications: gel documentation, chemiluminescence, electroluminescence, fluorescence microscopy.
