This Celestron Hummingbird Fast Action Pan Tilt Head Tripod provides both observers and imagers with a light but sturdy platform for mounting a binocular, spotting scope, or camera. Four leg sections with three leg angles, and an adjustable center column allow this tripod to be set to a myriad of configurations for the height or stance needed for your specific terrain and weather conditions. The panning handle and tension knob are useful for scanning the horizon in a smooth motion so you can track your subject as it moves across the night sky. Quick-Release Mounting Plate

With an integrated quick-release mounting plate, the Ultima tripod is capable of accepting a broad range of optical and photographic equipment nearly instantly. Featuring protective padding, this mounting plate provides a large, square platform that is perfect for connecting acccessories like a binocular adapter, spotting scope mounting feet, camera gear, etc.

Take advantage of a platform that tilts up to 90º with a lock knob to fix it in place at any angle to enhance your observing prowess. In addition, the quick-release plate contains a safety mechanism to ensure that it won't slide completely out of the pan head as long as the release button is not pushed. 

Center Column

An extendable center column provides the Hummingbird tripod with extra height when necessary. Simply twist the lock-knob to adjust the center column to your required elevation. The Hummingbird tripod is a little under 69" at full extension.

At the bottom of the center column, there is a retractable balance hook. This simple device can make all the difference in the stability of your tripod, especially on windy days. Just hang something heavy from the hook like a backpack and you’ll be amazed at the difference. When the hook is not needed, it retracts up into the center column to stay neatly out of the way.

Carrying Case

A soft woven carrying case is also included for convenient storage and transport. With your monopod in this case, you'll prevent your other gear from colliding with it in your gear bag.
