Bob's Knobs Celestron C14 Collimation Knobs - Metric Phillips

Collimation Knobs for Celestron 14" f/11 SCT's with Fastar, and with or without EdgeHD optics, that have Phillips collimation screws with factory metric threads. These black plastic 15 mm diameter knobs have stainless steel threads.

Collimation screws on the Celestron C14 are small and have very fine threads. Knobs need to be lightly tightened just to the point that the secondary mirror is held in place so as to avoid knob or secondary damage.

With Bob's Knobs installed, the factory dust cover will still fit properly.

The rotary secondary cover is required to stay open with knobs installed. Cover is for cosmetic purposes only and will not influence telescope operation.

Bob's Knobs must not stick out above the Trifid-style decorative attachment or they will impede the factory dust cover. To get better access to your knobs, this attachment can be removed by peeling off the vinyl escutcheon. Conversely, you can also access the knobs partially from the side.

Note: The Celestron 14" Schmidt-Cassegrain employs collimation screws that are either standard 6-32 or metric M3. Black Phillips collimation screws have metric threads in most cases. Most of the time, black Phillips collimation screws have metric threads. However, telescopes made before 2008 have standard thread collimation screws while more recent models have collimation screws with metric threads. If you need help determining which type of threads your specific telescope has, feel free to call us at 1-800-266-9590 or send us an email.
