Some of the newest astroimaging technology is taking steps to help setups be more portable and convenient so imagers can spend more time capturing those amazing night sky objects. The Atik Base Computer from Atik Cameras is joining the ranks of great camera and hardware control!
Base Computer from Atik uses a software collaboration with Ikarus Technologies and their highly regarded StellaMate system to allow for more customization than previously offered.
The Atik Base Computer has many excellent features such as it's ability to manage everything from one interface, the capability to acquire image proficiently, the ability to autofocus, and the ability to support for internal and third party guiding software. It also has plate solving, high accuracy GoTo telescope control, suggestions for imaging targets, and workflow automation.
With all of these wonderful features, ATIKbase can enhance user experience further by having an offline mode. This allows StellaMate web interface on mobile devices without needing internet access or VNC.
Furthermore, it runs directly from 12V and can distribute 12V power to imaging hardware such as cameras and mounts. It also has an ST4 port that aids in guiding when a mount does not accept USB connections.
The ATIKBase computer included a focus motor drive that can be used with Robo Focus, Moonlite, or Lakeside motors. It is also compatible with Atik Air!
