The High Point Scientific has a selection of motor drives that are available from several different manufacturers such as Celestron and Orion. Most motor drives are specifically designed to work on a particular model mount. For example, the Celestron RA Motor Drive is made for the AstroMaster and PowerSeeker EQ Mounts. This motor drive will drive the RA axis of these equatorial mounts but not the DEC axis. A more advanced motor drive package that would drive both axes of the mount would be the Celestron CG-4 Dual Axis Motor Drive. This drive motor combo contains motors for both RA and DEC axes for the Celestron CG-4 Equatorial Mount.
Motor drives are very affordable and offer a great alternative to some of the more expensive and complex GoTo telescope mount systems. This can allow the user to start off with a simple manual mount and expand the capabilities later on, even allowing for some basic astrophotography that would be difficult with a manual mount.
