Pegasus Astro has designed the FocusCube 3 to deliver powerful performance without adding bulk to your astrophotography set up. Only weighing 0.57lbs (0.26kg) itself, the high torque stepper motor offers a max payload of 13lbs (6kg)! Consistently accurate V-Curves are thanks to the ultra low backlash and high resolution design of the motor. This third generation FocusCube features a USB-C port which delivers both power and data transfer, and also includes a universal mounting bracket for adaptation to a wide variety of telescopes. Equipped with a temperature probe, this sensor helps you determine the best times to refocus your telescope throughout your imaging session. Pegasus Astro has also incorporated numerous means of control for this FocusCube 3. Connect it to your computer for compatibility with your favorite ASCOM Alpaca supported image capture software, take advantage of the Wi-Fi capabilities with your smartphone or tablet, or utilize an EZY Focus Hand Controller (not included) for more manual control.
Effortless Installation on Most Telescopes!
Connecting an automatic focuser can seem daunting at first, but no need to fret! Pegasus Astro has made installation simple and straightforward. This FocusCube 3 replaces the rough adjustment knob on your telescope and uses motors to control focus. To install, simply remove the focus knob, attach the focuser using the appropriate coupler provided within this package, then secure everything in place with the mounting bracket. One side of the coupler attaches to the focuser itself, while the other side is sized for the focusing shaft of your telescope. Five different sized couplers are provided for a wide range of compatibility. Unsure if these couplers will fit your telescope? You can easily check by removing your focusing knob, taking the diameter of your focusing shaft, and comparing it to the coupler sizes provided. This Pegasus Astro FocusCube 3 is known to work with focusers on telescope series from Apertura, Askar, William Optics, Sky-Watcher, and more!
Expanded Means of Operation
This upgraded FocusCube 3 design supports ASCOM Alpaca, the next generation of ASCOM, and offers use over network communication. This widens the software compatibility for connection not only with Windows, but with MacOS and Linux systems as well! This focuser’s OS-independency provides control through web browsers on any device for operation across a variety of set ups. Also, integrated Wi-Fi allows this focuser to function as a hotspot or client for use with your smartphone or tablet. The FocusCube 3 fully supports firmware upgrades, making this focuser future-proof! The optional EZY Hand Controller provides simple focusing for those want a more manual approach.
