Orion 10" f/3.9 Newtonian Astrograph 08296

  • Orion 10" f/3.9 Newtonian Astrograph is a reflector telescope and has the largest reflector optimization for astrophotography.

  • The 10" f/3.9 Newtonian Astrograph by Orion has 10" parabolic primary optics.

  • Orion 10" f/3.9 Newtonian Astrograph telescope has a very fast f/3.9 focal ratio.

  • This 10" f/3.9 Newtonian Astrograph telescopes 82mm minor axis secondary mirror provides superb full-field illumination with modern CCD imagers and DSLR cameras

The Orion 10" f/3.9 Newtonian Astrograph reflector telescope is the largest reflector optimized for astrophotography. Delivering wide-field, deep-space imaging performance is the 10" parabolic primary optics that have very fast f/3.9 focal ratio on this Newtonian Astrograph. Even faint galaxies and nebulas exhibit stunning detail with limited exposure time when photographed through this large-aperture astrograph with a CCD imager or DSLR camera. You'll get incredibly bright, crisp images that will make apo refractor enthusiasts green with envy. Not only is this fine instrument well designed, it is incredibly affordable too!

Featuring enhanced reflectivity (94%) aluminization for bright, contrast rich images is the 10" primary and secondary mirrors. Providing superb full-field illumination with modern CCD imagers and DSLR cameras is the 82mm minor axis secondary mirror with less than 8% light drop-off at the edge of APS-C sized sensors. The adjustable 4-vane secondary mirror holder features very thin, 1mm thick spider vanes to minimize diffraction effects in images. Making optical alignment easy and precise is the center mark on the primary mirror and three easy-grip collimations knobs.

Extended tube length of 7.5" in front of the focuser blocks intrusion of off-axis light, ensuring optimum image contrast. Permitting ultra-fine focus is the sturdy 2" dual-speed (11:1), low profile Crayford focuser that has 38mm of drawtube travel and a helpful drawtube lock knob. A steel reinforcing plate bolted inside the 38.6" long tube directly under the focuser helps eliminate flexure between it and tube, even with heavy imaging gear attached.

Like all fast Newtonians, an optional coma corrector is recommended to achieve flat-field imaging performance. Standard accessories include a 9x50 finder scope, 1.25" and 2" extension adapters, two cast aluminum tube rings, and a 12V DC fan for accelerated primary mirror cool-down. The fan requires either 8 AA batteries (not included) or 12V power supply (not included).

This Orion 10" f/3.9 Newtonian Astrograph reflector telescope is not only an affordable astrophotography instrument but can also be used as a formidable visual telescope. Its large 10" aperture and fast focal ratio provide beautiful views of deep space objects, the moon and planets, and sparkling star fields in both 1.25" and 2" telescope eyepieces. Take your shot and get the Orion 10" f/3.9 Newtonian Astrograph reflector telescope today!
