Each Orion SpaceProbe II 76 mm Newtonian Reflector comes with two 1.25" anti-reflection coated Kellner eyepieces with 25 mm and 10 mm focal lengths for two separate magnification choices straight out of the box. The 25 mm eyepiece yields 28x power magnification, while the 10 mm eyepiece yields up to 70x power magnification for close-up views. These 1.25" barrel eyepieces are better and offer more versatility than smaller .965" eyepieces included with many department store telescopes.

A red dot finder is included to make aiming the telescope nice and easy. Following a simple alignment procedure that parents can help with, you can use the red dot sight to accurately aim the 76 mm SpaceProbe II at objects in the sky such as the Moon and bright planets. Once aligned with the telescope, simply turn on the red-dot sight and peer through the small circular viewing window so you see the red dot, and move the telescope until the red dot is on the object you want to see.

An included Orion MoonMap 260 teaches more about the lunar features you'll observe through this telescope. With names and locations of more than 260 characteristics of the Moon such as craters, "seas," mountains, valleys, and more, the MoonMap 260 is a great tool for beginning astronomers. This detailed map will even provide locations of where various spacecraft have landed on the Moon's surface. You can use the MoonMap 260 to create a plan of what lunar details you want to observe, or to learn the official names of all the interesting landscape features you've seen with the SpaceProbe II 76 mm Reflector.

This SpaceProbe II 76 mm Reflector Telescope comes with the EQ-1B equatorial mount. A considerable upgrade compared to alt-azimuth mounts, this equatorial (or EQ) mount allows easy manual "tracking" of celestial objects with included slow-motion control cables. An adjustable-height aluminum tripod with accessory tray is also included with this feature-packed telescope. Like all Newtonian Reflectors, the 76 mm SpaceProbe II is not recommended for terrestrial viewing since images seen through it will appear upside down.
