A Full Frame Cooled Camera Loaded with Features!

Introducing the ASI2400MC Pro Cooled Color Camera from ZWO! The integrated full frame Sony sensor is packed with qualities such as incredible quantum efficiency, low readout noise, and high sensitivity. When coupled with the innovative internal design and careful circuitry of the ASI2400MC Pro, ZWO delivers a camera that is sure to take your astrophotography to the next level.

The onboard Sony IMX410 sensor offers an outstanding full well depth of 100Ke, allowing you to produce photos with exceptionally high dynamic range in 24-megapixel resolution! This back illuminated sensor allows for impressive sensitivity and low noise, resulting in an incredible signal to noise ratio within the frames captured. Reduce noise even more with the two stage TEC cooling system and handle dew effectively and efficiently with the integrated dew heater! Transfer every frame through the reliable 5Gb bandwidth USB3.0 port, and ensure every bit of data is safe and secure with the included 512MB DDR3 memory buffer. Achieve the perfect back focus right from the get go, as every adapter needed is included within this package, allowing you to start imaging in no time! The endless remarkable features of the ASI2400MC Pro make it one of the highest performing dedicated astrophotography cameras available on the market today.

A High Performance, Professional Camera for Astrophotography

Let's Dig into the Data!

What sets one astrophotography camera apart from another? How is performance measured? Camera and sensor manufacturers provide certain interconnected specifications that give insight into the performance of a camera. These measurements include quantum efficiency, read noise, full well depth, gain, and dynamic range. While the graphs provided by the manufacturer may be confusing or intimidating, don't fret! Our team has put together a breakdown of these complicated topics to help you make sense of them. Take a look at the article here: Understanding ZWO Camera Charts and Graphs, and feel more confident making the right choice for your astrophotography needs!

Full Frame Sony IMX410 Sensor
Integrating the high resolution 6072x4042 large Sony IMX410 sensor, this camera is able to produce pristine 24-megapixel images in 36mm x 24mm full frame format! The featured back illumination of this sensor allows the ASI2400MC Pro to have an increased sensitivity to the photons collected as there are no wires or transistors in the way of the pixels, resulting in high peak QE of 80%. This high QE coupled with the low read out noise of 1.1e greatly improves upon the camera’s signal to noise ratio (SNR) for sharper, more detailed images. Contributing to its incredible 14 stops of dynamic range is the 14 bit ADC and an outstanding 100Ke full well depth, producing frames with incredibly rich color gradation and reducing the possibility of overexposure. The innovative design of the ASI2400MC Pro also includes high conversion gain mode (HCG) that automatically kicks in at a gain setting of 140, reducing the amount of read noise while simultaneously preserving the dynamic range during high gain imaging.

Electronic Highlights
One of the key features of the ASI2400MC Pro is the absence of amp glow! The careful circuitry within this camera combats the production of weak infrared light seen within the frames of traditional CMOS sensors, resulting in zero amp glow even during long exposures or while using high gain settings. The ASI2400MC Pro reduces sensor noise and dark current through the integrated two stage TEC cooling, lowering the temperature of your sensor to 35-40 degrees Celsius below ambient temperature, allowing for long exposures produced with incredibly low noise. Also built in is a polyimide heater, heating the protective window over the sensor to help you avoid any dew issues that may arise throughout your night of imaging. This anti-dew heater requires approximately 5W of power, which can be turned off to conserve power if needed. Ensuring the frames you capture are preserved, a useful 512Mb memory cache is installed within the body of the ASI2400MC Pro, safely relaying your data to your computer.

Power and Ports
When it comes to powering your ASI2400MC Pro, we recommend the Apertura Universal 5 Amp AC Adapter. This power adapter ensures your camera is fully powered for your night of astrophotography. Quickly and reliably transfer your captured frames through the included 5Gb USB3.0 port, and add two additional accessories such as a guide camera or electronic focuser through the integrated USB2.0 hub! Included with the ASI2400MC Pro is one USB3.0 cable and two USB2.0 cables, readying you for a night of imaging.

Everything Needed for Proper Backfocus Spacing
No need to worry about the daunting task of finding the correct backfocus, ZWO has you covered! Including all of the adapters and spacers you need to reach the standard 55mm of backfocus, you’ll be ready to image in no time. Wanting to add additional accessories to your optical assembly? The ample amount of adapters make it easy to seamlessly adjust and swap out other ZWO accessories such as the OAG or Filter Drawer. Take a look at the images provided for more insight into how to connect your camera to your telescope!
