A Cooled Monochrome Camera Packed with Features!

This full frame monochrome camera is loaded with incredible qualities that result in stunning images filled with detail. Designing the ASI6200MM with high sensitivity, incredible resolution, and innovative craftsmanship, ZWO delivers a camera with exceptional astrophotography performance!

The integrated Sony sensor offers an ultra-high 14 stops of dynamic range, a small pixel size of 3.75um, and incredibly low read noise. These features paired with the remarkable 61.2 megapixels allows for images with stunning resolution and outstanding clarity! The careful design of the camera body provides useful additions such as TEC cooling for a further reduction in noise, the absence of amp glow for an easier time post processing, an onboard anti-dew heater, and more! See why the ASI6200MM Pro is one of the highest regarded astronomy cameras around!

A High Performance, Professional Camera for Astrophotography

Let's Dig into the Data!

What sets one astrophotography camera apart from another? How is performance measured? Camera and sensor manufacturers provide certain interconnected specifications that give insight into the performance of a camera. These measurements include quantum efficiency, read noise, full well depth, gain, and dynamic range. While the graphs provided by the manufacturer may be confusing or intimidating, don't fret! Our team has put together a breakdown of these complicated topics to help you make sense of them. Take a look at the article here: Understanding ZWO Camera Charts and Graphs, and feel more confident making the right choice for your astrophotography needs!

Full Frame Sony IMX455 Sensor
The outstanding 9576x6388 resolution provided by the onboard Sony IMX455 sensor makes this camera a 61.2-megapixel full frame powerhouse! This monochrome camera features an incredible 14 stops of dynamic range thanks to its 16-bit ADC and large 50Ke full well capacity. As opposed to traditional CMOS cameras, the ASI6200MM features a back illuminated sensor, resulting in incredible sensitivity to the photons collected. Due to the absence of a Bayer Pattern on the sensor, the monochrome design of this camera allows for a further increase in its sensitivity, utilizing every pixel within the sensor. The remarkable peak QE of 91% coupled with the low read out noise of 1.2e-3.5e greatly improves upon the camera’s signal to noise ratio (SNR) for sharper, more detailed images. The innovative design of the ASI6200MM Pro also includes high conversion gain mode (HCG) that automatically kicks in at a gain setting of 100, reducing the amount of read noise while simultaneously preserving the dynamic range during high gain imaging.

Electronic Highlights
The ASI6200MM Pro features numerous useful additions providing an incredible astrophotography experience. One key quality of this camera is the absence of amp glow! Thoughtful circuitry within the camera’s body eliminates the weak infrared light seen within frames taken by typical CMOS sensors. Avoid any dew issued that may arise throughout your night of imaging with the onboard polyimide heater. This anti-dew heater requires 5W of external power and can be turned off if needed. The integrated TEC cooling technology within this camera greatly reduces sensor noise along with dark current, allowing for stunning images with incredibly low noise! Keeping your data secure is the included 512MB DDR3 memory cache, preserving your frames until they are safely relayed to your computer.

Power and Ports
Powering your ASI6200MM requires an external power adapter through its DC 12V port. We recommend the Apertura Universal 5 Amp AC Adapter. Transfer your data quickly and reliably through the included USB3.0 port thanks to its large 5Gb bandwidth. Add two extra accessories with the integrated USB2.0 hub, such an electronic filter wheel or auto focuser! The ASI6200MM comes with three cables: two USB2.0 cables and one USB3.0 cable.

Everything Needed for Proper Backfocus Spacing
Find the perfect backfocus right from the get go with the three included extenders and adapters. The industry standard of 55mm of backfocus can be achieved with the M48-M48 16mm extender, M54-M48 21mm extender, and the 17.5mm of back focal distance within the camera itself. Wanting to add extra accessories to your imaging train? These adapters make it easy to swap out additional ZWO accessories, such as an an OAG or Filter Wheel! Refer to the provided images for a more detailed look at attaching you camera to your telescope!
