Lunt LS60MT H-Alpha Solar Telescope Observer Package

Consisting of a B1200 Blocking Filter for optimized imaging, this Lunt Solar LS60MT Observer Package also comes with a 1.25" diagonal, 2" to 1.25" focuser adapter, 1.25" white light solar wedge, zoom eyepiece, polarizing filter, a Sol Searcher solar finder, and a 4" dovetail. As with the Starter Package, the accessories in the Observer Package also allow for smooth transitioning between day viewing and night viewing modes.

The most compact and portable model in Lunt’s new modular solar telescope line, the LS60MT is a versatile refractor featuring an FPL51 ED Doublet Lens that comes in a variety of configurations in addition to this default 60 mm f/7 Hydrogen Alpha Module design. The LS60MT is a genuine "grab and go" solar telescope that provides users with an unobstructed view of our closest star superior to that of anything else the industry has to offer. Application of Lunt’s Doppler true tuning pressure system yields breathtaking views as the complex detail of the solar surface is laid bare. Only a small, incremental modification of the pressure within the system is required to adjust the observer’s view of the Sun. Suitable for use with several of your favorite accessories, the LS60MT can be made to work both during the day and after sunset.  Freshly updated optics allow you to experience our Sun’s magnificence like never before by displaying its surface features as if they are virtually protruding out at you.

Optimally suited for anyone interested in observing the Sun, this LS60MT H-Alpha Solar Refractor from Lunt Solar Systems is a true powerhouse yet is also easy to carry around. Converts easily from its base 60 mm Hydrogen-Alpha form into a 70 mm instrument via a slew of optional accessories for White Light, Calcium K, Terrestrial, and Night Sky observing. This solar refractor is capable of both exploring the spectacular prominences, filaments, and other solar surface phenomena during the day, as well as the wonders of celestial surroundings at night. Transitioning from solar viewing to night sky viewing is a simple process that only requires a few minutes of your time. With an internal FPL51 ED Doublet Lens and exceptional versatility, the LS60MT is a delight to own in any configuration, whether for viewing or imaging the Sun in H-Alpha, White Light, or CaK, or for viewing terrestrial or night sky objects.

In its base configuration, the Lunt LS60MT features a hydrogen-alpha module and comes with a 2” Rack & Pinion focuser. Night time viewing can be enabled using only a few supplemental accessories. The LS60MT delivers the superb Hydrogen-Alpha viewing you've come to expect from a Lunt telescope. All accessories required for a smooth transition from day to night configurations and vice versa are included with the LS60MT. In addition to the base telescope, this Observer Package comes complete with a B1200 blocking filter which has a larger field of view that is ideal for imaging applications, 1.25” star diagonal, 2” to 1.25” focuser adapter to enable use of the diagonal, 1.25" white light wedge, polarizing filter, zoom eyepiece, and dovetail. With all of these great accessories, you are guaranteed to have a wonderful time exploring the cosmos both during daylight hours and after sunset. Does not include a mount or tripod.

True Doppler Tuning

True Doppler Tuning primarily allows for a shift into and away from the user, adding a 3-D like component to the viewing experience. Although the effect this has on prominences is minimal due to their location at the edge of the disk, it does have an impact on filaments and similarly active regions on the surface. Additionally, while looking at a filament at the center of the Sun, the user has the ability to Doppler shift from the base of the filament to the tip, thus following the filament through its structure toward you and away from you. This enhanced visual and imaging capability benefits the observer while providing a useful research tool for the avid hobbyist. Lastly, the LS60MT’s pressure tuning system allows for more precise tuning of desired features by an order of magnitude.
