Astrozap

Astrozap understands that dew is a growing problem among amateur astronomers. The effects of dew are the same as when it collects on a car windshield; you could find a thick layer of condensed water, or dew, in the wee hours of the morning on your scope's lens. When dew collects on your telescope's lens, it’s important not to wipe it or you’ll risk damaging the anti-reflection coatings.

That's where Astrozap comes in. High Point is proud to carry a wide selection of Astrozap telescope dew shields and heaters to prevent and eliminate dew when it occurs. Astrozap also produces flexible ABS-grade polymer dew shields as well as rigid aluminum dew shields for most telescope apertures on the market today.

With Meade being one of the top manufacturers of optical equipment in the world, it’s no surprise that Astrozap produces dew shields for their scopes. For example, check out the Astrozap Flexible Dew Shield for Meade 10" LX90/LX200/LX850 ACF Telescopes. Made in the USA with high-quality ABS-grade polymers, this dew shield is an essential accessory for anyone observing or imaging under dew-forming conditions.

If you require additional protection, Astrozap also produces a selection of dew heaters and controllers that can come to the rescue when dew threatens. The Astrozap Dew Heater Strip for 5" Telescopes is a great way to keep your scope warm during cold, damp nights. The strip wraps around the end of the scope and includes velcro that allows the fit of the strip to be adjusted.

Another popular item is Astrozap solar filters, made with Baader solar film. Sizes are available for most telescopes and will allow white light views of our Sun without doing damage to your eyes or your optics.

The AstroZap Baader Solar Filter for ETX 90 and 90 mm - 100 mm Telescopes not only works with Meade ETX 90 scopes, but can also be fitted to any scope with an aperture of between 90mm and 100mm. The filter has a neutral color balance that allows you to use various colored filters to study different spectral passbands and has been coated on both sides for the ultimate in safety.
