Scott's vision was to manufacture quality telescopes and eyepieces that anyone would be happy to own, and he succeeded in spades with the introduction of Explore Scientific refractors as well as an amazing line of super wide-angle, waterproof eyepieces. At first, waterproofing an eyepiece seemed like an unnecessary expense, but once amateur astronomers realized how much easier it was to clean their optics, not to mention the unsurpassed protection against moisture and dew waterproofing provides, they were sold, and so were a whole lot of eyepieces!

One of the lessons Scott brought with him from his many years at Meade Instruments was the importance of good customer service. A company can make great products, but if they don't back up those products after the purchase, the company won't get far. It is for that reason that Explore Scientific offers a great warranty.
