By swapping out the original saddle on your AVX mount for this dual saddle, you'll be able to mount optical tubes using either D Series or V Series dovetail bars. Thanks to the innovative split clamp design, this saddle applies uniform locking pressure along the contact points, so you won't have to worry about dents and scratch on the dovetail bar. It also has two large "rosette" style locking knobs for seamless and tool free operation. The spring loaded jaws keep the saddle open when unlocked, making it easy to quickly position your dovetail bar. How do you install this Dual Saddle to an AVX mount?
Follow these simple steps to install your ADM dual saddle adapter:
- First, make sure your AVX mount is powered off and the saddle is secured in the home position.
- Remove the four hex screws located on the top side of saddle. After removing the screws, set them aside in a secure location.
- Disengage the declination lock and carefully remove the saddle assembly. Flip the saddle assembly over and remove the clear plastic gasket.
- Remove the declination lock by unthreading the screw and lock assembly. Set these components aside in a secure location.
- With the original saddle removed from the mount and relevant components set aside, attach the puck adapter from the ADM saddle to the mount using the four hex screws along with the plastic gasket. You may need to detach the saddle plate before completing this step.
- Finally, secure the saddle plate to the puck adapter using the included screws and attach the declination locking assembly.
