Askar 0.74x Reducer for 131F
Askar 0.74x Reducer for 131F
Dramatically decrease data collection time and increase your field of view, with this premium reducer from Askar! Designed specifically for the 131F, this reducer maintains that quad APO's full-frame coverage and incredible performance, while pushing the optics faster. Enhance your large refractor's astrophotography performance, with the Askar 0.74x Reducer for 131F!
With an aggressive 0.74x reduction factor, this reducer from Askar takes the 131F Flat-Field Refractor's focal ratio and length from f/7.5 and 983 mm to f/5.5 and 727 mm. This sharp reduction allows you to collect images of the same brightness in much less time, allowing you to reach the same results faster or cram more data collection into a session of the same duration. Faint nebulae and deep sky targets jump out that much faster and, with the triplet reducer design, just as crisp & contrast rich. The reducer reintroduces backfocus, but at the industry-standard 55 mm to make building an imaging train just as simple; and with the full-frame, field-flattened images there is no sacrifice to the camera you can use! These optics are housed in a CNC machined housing for a premium feeling and durable finish to match your sleek telescope setup.

Triplet 0.74X Optical Design
The Askar 0.74x Reducer
for 131F uses a triplet optical design to speed up your astrophotography.
These three optics take the
Askar 131F Flat-Field Refractor's stock
f/7.5, 983 mm focal length view to f/5.5, 727 mm. This brighter view
maintains a 44 mm image circle and flat field, for images that shine with
sharp & contrast rich performance from full-frame corner to corner.
Simple to Use, Premium Construction
This reducer
features M72 connections on either side, with M54 and M48 adapters included
to connect this to your 111F telescope and imaging train. This reducer
re-introduces backfocus, however with a design around the industry's
standard 55 mm, constructing an imaging train is still easy. This reducer
additionally features a 2" filter cell that simplifies giving your image a
boost. The reducer features a CNC machined housing for rigid and robust
addition to your telescope, and comes with two dust caps to keep the optics
protected when not in use.
Frequently Asked Questions
How does a reducer work?
A reducer takes an existing
image, and compresses it into a smaller area. This has the effect of
increasing the field of view, bringing part of the image that was previously
cut off into view, and increasing brightness through this concentration of the
available light. This compression is why sometimes reducers will shrink the
image circle size. This has the effect of making the telescope perform like a
faster focal ratio design.
