When you’re not exploring the night sky, you can easily unmount this guide scope, remove the rear extension tubes, and customize it for a variety of needs. You can even use it as a standalone lens and capture breathtaking images of a variety of scenes, or by attaching an 1.25" diagonal it can be converted for visual use! Besides the superb optical performance and versatile design, this guide scope features an integrated helical focuser, durable CNC machined components, and a delicate anodized treatment and a calm black finish, making it a great match for the Askar SQA55 Quintuplet Refractor!

The 52 mm Super ED Guide Scope has an objective lens crafted from super low dispersion glass and a focal length of 249.6 mm. With its large aperture and fast f/4.8 focal ratio, this guide scope will consistently provide sharp stars for exceptional guiding. And this multi-functional guide scope goes even further! By removing the rear extension tubes, you can convert this guide scope into a standalone photographic lens, allowing you to capture vivid, high contrast images of both celestial and terrestrial scenes!
Multi-Functional Design
The 52mm Super ED guide scope is designed for more than just high-performance guiding, which is why Askar included not one, but two 40 mm detachable extension tubes, in addition to the interchangeable 1.25” and M42 adapters. This expands the use case beyond just guiding and allows the 52 mm SD Guide Scope to accommodate a variety of needs, such as visual observation (with 1.25" diagonal), wide FOV astrophotography, and even daytime photography! The incredibly lightweight design (1.6 lbs) further enhances this guide scope’s versatility, making it easy to bring along on all your adventures!
Integrated Helical Focuser
Askar adopted an integrated Helical focuser design for the 52 mm Super ED Guide Scope, ensuring smooth fine-tuned adjustments, without vibration or backlash. Additionally, the full 25 mm travel length is well defined, allowing you to pinpoint the perfect focal point and easily return to previous focal points. With these precise mechanics, you’ll capture the vivid and high contrast details of any stars or scenes you choose to capture!
Durable Build
Beyond the optics, focuser, and multi-functional design, the 52mm Super ED guide scope boasts durable CNC machined components, such as the universal vixen dovetail base that flows seamlessly into the enclosed guide scope backet. The guide scope backet has three enlarged alignment knobs for fine-tuned XY-axis adjustments, ensuring the guide scope maintains precise guiding when mounted on a telescope. Askar also included a 1/4 threaded hole and an M4 threaded hole for more mounting options, perfect for this multi-use guide scope!
