Astronomik MaxFR H-Alpha 12 nm CCD Canon EOS R APS-C Clip Filter

  • Presented in an EOS clip format for Canon EOS R APS-C cameras, this Astronomik H-Alpha 12 nm CCD Filter is optimally suited for astrophotography
  • The MaxFR filter line by Astronomik is designed for fast optical systems (RASA, Epsilon, and other astrographs)
  • The MFR coating allows this 12 nm H-alpha filter to be used on all instruments down to f/1.4
  • Housing modifications are not necessary for use
  • Simple no-tool attachment can be accomplished using only a finger while a small hook is included to help with removal
  • Allows H-Alpha light emissions to pass while blocking almost the entire remainder of the visual spectrum plus IR
  • FWHM bandwidth of roughly 12 nm
  • Works great for planetary nebulae and supernova remnant imaging
  • Delivered with a durable filter container of excellent quality
  • Best out-of-band blocking possible from ultraviolet (UV) through infrared (IR)
  • Experience very high contrast with no haloing
  • Made in Germany, a country noted for producing superior optics!

About the Astronomik MaxFR H-Alpha 12 nm CCD EOS R APS-C Clip Filter

For deep sky astrophotography with Canon EOS R APS-C camera models under light-polluted skies, the Astronomik MaxFR H-Alpha 12 nm CCD EOS R APS-C Clip Filter is ideal. Its 12 nm FWHM is optimal for Canon cameras, enabling the use of very fast optics down to f/1.4. An asset of this 12 nm filter is the easy availability of guide stars for cameras with an incorporated autoguider.

Astronomik's MaxFR H-Alpha 12 nm CCD Clip-Filter (8h11vs ) enhances the contrast between objects, in this case between targeted objects with H-Alpha emission lines and the skyglow background. This filter provides total suppression of emission lines from artificial sources such as mercury and sodium-vapor from street lamps, making it an excellent light pollution filter! Because of the high optical quality of the Astronomik MaxFR substrate, you won't be able to tell the difference between the razor-sharp stars seen with a camera or with your regular telescope. Using this filter guarantees 90% transmission or more at H-Alpha (656nm). This filter is made to Astronomik's exacting standards. While transmission ratings may vary between each filter, you are guaranteed a transmission rating greater than 90%, with a typical transmission rating of around 96% for the 12 nm Ha. The specific T-Max will be listed on the filter case. You can rest easy knowing that every unit is thoroughly tested and guaranteed to meet Astronomik's stellar benchmark of performance!

Like all Astronomik filters, the MaxFR H-Alpha 12 nm CCD filters are parfocal with all other Astronomik filters, and are delivered in a high-quality, long-lasting plastic storage case. This filter completely blocks out all unwanted wavelengths in the visible and IR part of the spectrum. Diffraction-limited, your telescope's optical performance will not be compromised. Furthermore, this filter features a very thin substrate and is highly resistant to the effects of scratching, aging, and high humidity.

About the Astronomik MaxFR Filter Line

This high-quality line of astrophotography filters uses a built-in MFR coating technique to produce the best out-of-band blocking possible, from the ultraviolet to the infrared. The MaxFR filter line by Astronomik is manufactured using an entirely new process specifically designed for fast optical systems and focal ratios. This results in extremely high contrast with no haloing!

About the Astronomik EOS R APS-C Clip Filter System

Designed for Canon EOS R APS-C cameras for use in both metropolitan and suburban viewing areas, Astronomik EOS R APS-C clip filters do not require any camera modifications in order to be used.

Installation may be performed without tools using only ones finger while a small hook is included for initial help with filter removal. As soon as the filter is out far enough to grasp, you can use your fingers to take it out and place it back in its case. Imaging can begin once this filter is rested flush into place and the camera lens has been reinstalled.

Please note this filter must NEVER be used for solar observing or imaging. Doing so will cause permanent damage to your eyes.
