If you want to get the most out of your deep sky observations, the Astronomik 1.25" OIII Visual Filter is what you’ve been looking for! This filter will unlock the faint, nebulous detail, allowing you to see high-contrast visual observations of gaseous nebulae! Isolating specific wavelengths with narrowband filters makes these targets stand out from the black sky and light pollution.
This Astronomik OIII filter is ideal for supernova remnants and planetary nebulae visual observations. When viewing more faint nebulae, the addition of an OIII filter will often make the difference between an object being visible or not! OIII filters can enhance the visibility of faint objects across the entire field of view, rather than just the center, when looking through an eyepiece. Using this filter allows 95% transmission at 496nm (OIII), and 95% transmission at 501nm (OIII). This filter is made to Astronomik's exacting standards. While transmission ratings may vary between each filter, you can expect a transmission rating around 95% for the OIII. The specific T-Max will be listed on the filter case. Compatibility!
As enough light gather power must be
available to make visual use of this OIII filter, it is best to pair with
apertures of 6" (150 mm) or larger. Smaller instruments do not gather enough
light for noticeable or satisfying detail enhancements. Astronomik's does
recommend a telescope aperture of 10" (250 mm) or larger for peak
performance! This filter is housed in a 1.25" round mounted filter cell. You
can easily thread it to the eyepiece barrel or any threaded 1.25"
accessory!

The Astronomik OIII Filter features fully sealed, durable coatings that are
highly resistant to moisture and difficult to scratch; designed to withstand
years of use! Visual astronomers using larger telescopes often prefer
narrowband filters like the OIII over more versatile options such as a UHC
light-pollution filter, especially when targeting specific nebulae. Thanks
to the diffraction-limited optical substrate, this filter preserves the full

parfocal with one another, requiring little to no refocusing when switching
