This shroud is designed to protecting your truss-tube Apertura AD16 Dobsonian from the influence of dew and stray light. This Astrozap Light Shroud is an essential accessory!
The truss tube design saves weight, but it also leaves a lot of space between the primary and secondary exposed to the air, leaving the optics vulnerable to dew and stray light. This can cause image quality to be compromised and possibly ruin your observing session. Made in the USA, the fabric used to make this AstroZap Light Shroud is made from light weight breathable black fabric. It is tailored to fit over the AD16's trusses without difficulty. Two ABS bands prevent the shroud from obstructing the light path, and there are lower and upper drawstrings that help keep the shroud in place, while also providing a subtle dew prevention system akin to Astrozap dew shields.
