The Astrozap Flexi-Heat Dew Shield gives you the best of both worlds when it comes to battling dew on the optics of your Unistellar eVscope!

First, this heated flexible dew shield passively fights dew by surrounding the front-most lens or mirror with flexible plastic...extending, if you will, the skyward projection of the telescope. This method works very well, as owners of Newtonian telescopes will tell you, since a Newtonian's primary mirror sits at the bottom of the OTA instead of near the top. An upward extension of the OTA also keeps light from glancing off of the primary or corrector plate. This results in higher contrast images, as light from the Moon or artificial sources striking the mirror always diminish contrast.

A unheated flexible dew shield is great, but a heated dew shield gives you another way to fight dew in an active way...with gentle heat. On nights of heavier dew, even dew shield users find that they have to call it quits, but with the ability to apply heat around the diameter of the tube near the mirror, you can extend your viewing time! Now, you do need a source of power and a controller to use the heat functions of the Astrozap Flexi-Heat Dew Shield or optional dew heater strips, but those additional accessories are worth it if you live in a part of the country where dew forms often.

Astrozap heated dew shields are made from the highest quality ABS-grade polymers. Velcro® fasteners provide a snug fit and are padded so as not to mar or scratch the telescope's finish. They roll up easily into a convenient size for easy transportation to star parties and dark sky sites, or can lay flat for storage. The built-in, low wattage dew heater provides active dew fighting to maximize your viewing or imaging time.

This product requires the use of a simple D/C adapter (AZ-719) or dual channel controller (AZ-720) to be powered. Use of a dew controller other than Astrozap brand can cause damage and void the warranty.
