This Baader Planetarium Extension Tube provides an additional 10 mm of optical spacing distance for imaging sessions with cameras featuring wide M48 thread. M48 internal thread with 3.5 mm depth is included on the telescope side of this aluminum adapter, while M48 external thread with 3 mm depth is included on the eyepiece/camera side.
Often, what distinguishes modern cameras from their older counterparts are their extremely short optical heights. This is due to their need to be capable of mounting to a wide variety of telescope configurations. The traditional T-2 standard thread depth of 5 mm simply doesn't cut it anymore. To remedy this, Baader has designed their new T-2 and M48 parts to comply with the new 3 mm standard.
