When working with larger M48 threaded cameras and accessories, you can add 5 mm of length to your optical path by using this Baader M48 Extension Tube Spacer. Contains M48 internal thread on the telescope side with a depth of 3.5 mm, and M48 external thread on the eyepiece/camera side with a depth of 3 mm. Features aluminum construction.
Often, what distinguishes modern cameras from their older counterparts are their extremely short optical heights. This is due to their need to be capable of mounting to a wide variety of telescope configurations. The traditional T-2 standard thread depth of 5 mm simply doesn't cut it anymore. To remedy this, Baader has designed their new T-2 and M48 parts to comply with the new 3 mm standard.
