Compatible with Celestron 14" Schmidt-Cassegrains and EdgeHDs, as well as 36 cm RASAs, this dew shield will be a vital component of your observing setup for years to come. The duration at which the Celestron C14 corrector lens is maintained below the dew point expands with the reduction in radiative cooling resulting from the use of this dew shield. This keeps dew from gathering on the lens. In addition, image contrast for both viewing and imaging is given a boost with this aluminum dew shield due to the obstruction of extraneous light. Construction

This custom-made dew shield for Celestron 9.25" Schmidt-Cassegrain, EdgeHD, and 36 cm RASA telescopes boasts solid aluminum construction to keep it from folding, bending, or contorting. For optimal viewing and imaging contrast, the interior velvet-lined surface is capable of soaking up any light or moisture surplus. Fits securely to your optical tube through the use of two included adjustable clips.

The cover cap included with this dew shield also features durable yet lightweight aluminum construction. Simply place this cap on your dew shield whenever your telescope is in a dormant state to keep stray dust particles away from your SCT’s corrector. In addition, this cover cap provides the ability to achieve dark frames for imaging quickly and easily.

Another useful feature of this dew shield comes in the form of a cable management hub that can be found at the base. This is especially beneficial for those with RASA astrographs, or for those employing Fastar or Hyperstar technology with their SCT who need a way to simplify their complex cable setups. Essential cables, including those for Celestron dew heater rings, are all run from the same location in this configuration, greatly reducing cable-related stress while also safeguarding against potential stray light. Finally, top and bottom cutouts account for telescopes with attached dovetails, allowing this dew shield to fit any 8” SCT OTA no matter the configuration.
