Full-color images are right at your fingertips, opening the doors to beautiful astrophotos of your favorite solar system objects in no time. Despite its advanced sensor technology and developed features, this camera is simple to operate and comes with everything you need within the box, making it perfect for those just getting started in astrophotography!
With a whopping 20 megapixels onboard, this high-resolution powerhouse easily resolves the intricate craters on our Moon, the twisting gas clouds on Jupiter, the stunning rings of Saturn, and plenty more. Low-light efficient, the AR2020 sensor helps maximize detail for next-level photographs of our celestial neighbors. Take advantage of this high sensitivity for guiding as well, helping you stay locked onto your target during deep-sky imaging. This camera’s precision engineering is furthered with the included region of interest (ROI) imaging! Equipped with Celestron iCap software, a 1.25” nosepiece, and a USB cable, you’re set up for success. iCap allows you to fine-tune your camera’s exposure time, gain, frame rate, and more, while the added hardware makes integration into your astrophotography rig simple and straightforward. Quality-built and designed to perform, the Celestron NexImage 20 is sure to help you make leaps and bounds within your astroimaging journey!
Powerful in Performance, Versatile in Design
Equipped with upgraded sensor technology, ROI imaging, and everything you need to get started, it’s easy to see why the Celestron NexImage 20 is a must-have. Read on as we take a deeper look at the key qualities of this Celestron color planetary camera!
Advanced Sensor Technology
At the core of the Celestron NexImage 20 is the AR2020 sensor, a 20 megapixel imaging chip designed to deliver outstanding, full-color images in a single shot! With its 5240 x 3840 pixel array and small 1.4 µm pixels, you can expect sharp, vivid images of our solar system and of ideal resolution of guide stars. This sensor enables crisp detail to be captured thanks to its impressive 8.7 ke⁻/lux-sec sensitivity. Additionally, the back-illuminated design and low-light optimization further improves photon collection for heightened image clarity. As a planetary camera, this 7.3 x 5.4 mm sensor features a small 9 mm diagonal, offering seamless integration with just about any telescope.
Equipped with ROI Imaging
Region of Interest (ROI) imaging is a technique that utilizes just a portion of your sensor to fixate on a selected area within your field of view. This makes it perfect for removing unwanted background space when imaging compact objects like the planets or lunar craters, helping you put every pixel to good use. Since just a section of the sensor is utilized instead of the entire chip, the smaller file sizes give way to a much speedier frame rate, something highly beneficial for lucky imaging! In addition to hastier image collection, the reduced file size means image stacking and post-processing are also accelerated.
A Dual-Purpose Powerhouse
Doubling as an autoguider, you’re well equipped for a wide variety of applications! Enjoy collecting beautiful detail on Saturn and Jupiter, then effortlessly switch this camera over to your deep-sky imaging rig for use as a capable guiding tool. The high sensitivity offered by this Celestron NexImage 20 is wonderful for resolving crisp detail on the planets, while also providing a rich field of guide stars within the frame. Additionally, the included 1.25” nosepiece makes adaptations to your high focal length telescope or guide scope a breeze. Whether you’re imaging the Moon or the planets, or exploring deep space with this camera as a trusty guide cam, the highly sensitive Celestron NexImage 20 is optimal for both!
Easy Installation
No matter your experience level, getting started with the Celestron NexImage 20 is a piece of cake! You’ll first need to start off by installing the camera driver, which can be found by clicking here, or referring to the supplied manual.
