Designed specifically for CGX and CGX-L, the Polar Axis Finderscope provides an easy, straightforward way to polar align your mount!

The Celestron Polar Scope for CGX & CGX-L Mounts includes an adjustable and removable bracket custom-built for the CGX & CGX-L. You can remove it for safe storage, it is also adjustable to accommodate the most accessible viewing angle for your setup.

Easy Installation

Installation of the CGX Polar Scope is easy! First, locate the finder bracket mount on the CGX or CGX-L mount, which is a rectangular plate on the right-side mount’s Right Ascension axis, below the declination motor housing, and remove the two Phillips head screws and cover plate. Attach the dovetail bracket using the provided hex head screws, slide the polar finder and bracket assembly onto the dovetail mount and tighten the two thumb knobs to secure it. You will want to verify that the objective lens points out toward the sky. Please reference the diagram below.

Simple Reticle Map
The reticle map allows you to polar align and easily locate the North Celestial Pole without the need to reference an app or location & time. After your level and adjust your mount according to your latitude and longitude, you will want to identify Polaris through the scope. Once you have it in view, you will want to rotate the eyepiece so the stars on the map reflect your actual sky. Lastly, you will fine-tunea djust knobs to center Polaris within the cross hair etched on the scopes objective.

Adjustable Bracket
The Polar Finderscope includes a dovetail base bracket that securely attaches to the CGX and CGX-L mounts, allowing for easy installation and removal. The bracket is designed with an adjustable angle to provide the most convenient viewing position for alignment. Additionally, the finder bracket can be detached from the dovetail for compact storage when not in use.
