Are you ready to take the guesswork out of using third-party heating bands and straps? The Celestron Thermistor is designed to work with the Celestron Smart Dew Heater Controllers and provides a "smart" control of third-party dew heaters while increasing power efficiency.
In order to use this thermistor, attach the heating band or strap of a dew heater to the telescope and place the sealed probe tip of the thermistor under the band/strap so it can get accurate temperature readings. Then, plug each cable into the corresponding port of the Smart DewHeater Controller (please note the controller and dew heater are sold separately). Once connected, the thermistor will regulate the heating bands/straps and deliver only enough heat to the optics to prevent dew. This feature also works to conserve power.
You do not need this thermistor if you are using the Celestron Dew Heater ring, as it already has a built-in thermistor.
